Calangute MLA Michael Lobo has said that the trial process of sewerage treatment plant in Calangute is currently underway and its operations will commence shortly Lobo also categorically stated that the panchayat should impose a fines on those establishments discharging sewerage in drains.
He was speaking at the side lines of the Cleaning & Restoring of water bodies at Fonyar Water Pond Calangute the works were taken up as part of BJP Social Justice Week. organised by calangute BJP mandal also present were deputy Sarpanch of Calangute Geeta Parab, and the panch members.
“The trial rounds of the sewerage treatment plants is going on but we want a big sump to be built somewhere in Calangute so that water can be used for gardening and the water can also be used for the purpose of agriculture and some water can also go to the industrial estate of saligao that was the initial order issued by the town and country department and the committee which was involved to give the NOC for this project of sewerage” informed lobo and said that the project is almost complete and the trial rounds are going on” said lobo
