Adv Ferreira throws open Mapusa office with pledge to be closer to the people
MAPUSA: Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Saturday threw open his Mapusa office that will cater to the Mapusa areas of his constituency like Xetie Waddo, Bilou, Peddem as well as help those who find the Mapusa location convenient from other villages like Bastora, Camarcazan and Acoi remain close to their MLA.
Adv Ferreira, who chose Saturday April 15, the auspicious occasion of the beginning of the novenas of the Mapusa Milagres Saibinn feast as well as the vespers of the feast of the Mae de Deus Chapel in Corjuem, promised he would work harder for his constituency not just to repair roads, gutters and clear the garbage, but also for the overall upliftment of his constituency.
“It is not a matter of repairing a road or something. It is uplifting our life. This is what we need to do, we attain salvation as well. I believe that if we can do that, I think I will be able to achieve much having been given this chance to serve as a politician. Politicians I believe, are not only to clean gutters and repair roads and potholes, we have to do something higher, we must take our constituency to a higher level and we must see the satisfaction of the people which I think we are trying to deliver,” he said, while speaking on the occasion.
“I want to thank everyone from my team who has worked with me before the elections, during the elections and after the elections. I am happy that everyone in the team has still remained strong and that they believe in the work they are doing because we are doing it for the good of our constituency, for the good of Goa,” he added.
“We promise to continue with this. Even if the Mandovi river flow stops, our work won’t stop,” he said.
“I will be having this office open every day, but I will be coming once a week. I will inform you of the date in advance. The other days I will be in Aldona and I will also try to juggle my court in between that. This is so that I can be closer to the people and they can be closer to me,” he said.
“If we are running short of target please do not hesitate to tell me we are always open to suggestions and I can’t always be perfect but I can make sure I will course correct and make sure that we try to deliver to perfection,” he said.
Adv Ferreira thanked his supporters for standing by him and helping him reach out to the people.
