Tibetans from Goa held a Peaceful and Silent protest protest at Calangute Tibetan Market condemning the Dalai Lama’s controversial video leak.
. They alleged that a video of the Tibetan monk, Dalai Lama, kissing a boy while blessing him, had gone viral on social media, which insulted their religious beliefs. Speaking to media a tebetain Kalsang chodon said that the Tibetan born medical student Tenzin had spoken out against the leaked video footage of the 14th Dalai Lama preaching peace to the world. The footage shows a Buddhist monk allegedly engaging in obscene behavior. The people claimed that clips from an old video were being taken out of context and displayed on social media and in the media to insult them.
Speaking further another tibetian also stated that there is a tradition called Juledha, where elders kiss children, and it is an emotional issue and added that circulating the old video is giving the wrong message to society. The video has been edited to project the child as a victim of the act another tibetian chopell also condemned the statements of the Bollywood celebrities who participated in such campaigns without proper knowledge.
