Calangute MLA Michael lobo said that the youth of Parra will be able to start kayaking facilities if the entire rivulets are de-silted and the and made clean and the government will provide them with loans to start such business in the state
Lobo was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the work of the de-silting of a rivulet from linga bhat to Arpora river. The entire rivulet was blocked due to the accumulation of silt from the nearby fields which had made it difficult for the smooth flow of water. As the river is also a breeding ground of fresh fish and crabs a need was felt to de-silt the river and to rejuvenate it so that the local youth could also start kayaking boating business once the river is de-silted and made clean. The communidade of Parra and the village panchayat of parra have assisted in undertaking the works of trimming the trees and removing the r debris that was blocking the smooth passage of water
“So once this rivulet is and clean and all the silt is removed our local youth will be able to start kayaking business and get self employed” said lobo
This could also be a nice attractive place for tourism activities as there is a bandh of both the sides of the rivulet and there are plans to even beautify the bandh” said lobo
