The sports lovers from Pilerne village can now breathe a sigh of relief as the existing football ground next to the panchayat is going be get a new modern look as the works of laying of artificial playing turf for the locals commenced on Friday
The works were inaugurated by Saligao MLA kedar Naik in the presence of sarpanch Reshma Bandodkar, deputy sarpanch Ajay Govekar ZP Reis magos Sandeep Bandodkar and others
This was a long pending demand that an playing turf had to be put up on the ground as elaborate seating arrangements were already in place but the ground was lacking in artificial playing turf making it difficult for the players so keeping this in mind the panchayat has taken up the works of laying of the turf by spending its own money and without using government fund and also through the support of MLA kedar Naik the estimated cost of the works is around around 90 lakhs ” said Deputy sarpanch Ajay Govekar
speaking that the works will be completed latest by September or October this ground will be ready with a new modern look for the youth to come and play football ” said govekar
Speaking further MLA kedar naik said that the issue of the development of the ground was raised at every gram sabha and people were alaways to know the status of the ground so today the dream of a modern play ground has been finally fulfilled and the works will commence shortly and this will be one of the best grounds in Saligao constituency and in Pilerne” said naik adding that many grounds in Saligao village will also be developed in the future
