local residents of Camarkhazan are affected as the wells water has been reduced creating panic . Locals said that recently STP plant has its trail run as result water level has been affected in waddo.
Local resident Aaron Gomes said that the chambers which are built for Sewerage are leaking as a result during trial run when water is being sucked not only from wells but also spring and ground water. We are at the lowest lying area .

John Lobo said that “Goans are not getting water due to diversion of Mhadei River and taps in houses are dry and now with reduction of ground water level due to trail run of STP plant will affect everyone. The plant should not be started until leakage issues of chambers are resolved”.

Stanley Braganza said that a trial run of the plant was done as a result around 18- 20 wells are affected in waddo and water level in my well has gone down by five meters . While they had trial rum and pumped all ground water as well as our well water.

Aldona MLA Advocate Carlos Alvares Ferreira said that at present trial run of the plant has been stopped and we hold a meeting next week with officials and local over issue.

“We got to know that a trial run was done and water was removed to check leakage in chambers. But we got to know that the water level in wells of local’s resident started reducing and also some went dry. At present people are not getting tap water and people are dependent on well water. ” said Adv Ferreira

“I have spoken to engineers and have asked them to stop the trial run and if there are leakages then it needs to be taken care of as it can result in pollution of ground water level” said Fereira
