The issue of non-functioning of the traffic signals, damaged footpaths and illegal constructions mushrooming in the village dominated the gram sabha of candolim held on Sunday
Villager lourence silveria raised the issue of sale of alcohol at the Aguada jail museum and demanded to know the reason behind the sale of Alcohol, sarpanch Fermino Fernandes said that he will write a letter excise as the property doesn’t belongs to the panchayat but to the tourism department to see to it that there is no alcohol served there.

a local Damien Telis sort to know the present status of the ODP and what has been done aobut it however the sarpanch could not give a satisfactory answer to it . villagers also raised the issue of acute water shortage troubling the village and demanded to know the stand of the panchayat on this issue sarpanch said that the village is blessed with a number of water and the panchayat will use an alternate method of pumping the water using a pump. The locals also raised the issue of malfunctioning of Traffic signals and demanded to know the reason behind it sarpanch said that the issue will be rectified as there is some problem of electricity supply to the signal lights and once electricity is supplied the lights will start function again. Villagers also raised the issue of the illegal hill cutting work being carried out to construct for construction purposes and demanded with the sarpanch to intitiate stern action against the same sarpanch assured of taking action.
The issue of the incomplete candolim sports club witnessed heated discussions as the villagers demanded to know the status of it as to why the project was kept pending for a long sarpanch could not give a satisfactory reply on the same and this infuriated the locals as they demanded that the sports complex be completed as soon as possible sarpanch however failed to give a satisfactory reply on the same. The gram sabha went on smoothly without any untoward incidents
