Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Thursday held a joint meeting with locals resident in presence of Assistant engineer of plant and it was decided to raise an issue with the Chief Secretary about the plants and other issues. Accordingly, on Thursday a meeting was held with the officials in presence of Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Ferreira and local councilor Vikas Arolkar along with locals. During the meeting locals raised concern over the leakages in manholes and pipeline which needs to be rectified and if not rectified then in future may cause more problems for locals. During the meeting issues discussed including identification of water leakages, checking of manholes, treatment of waste including dry.
The Assistant engineer Shailesh Vaigankar in presence of Vishal Patil said that the possibility of leakage in some chambers cannot be ruled out. He assured that all chambers and manholes will be checked by May end.
Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Ferreira said that we get the copy of DPR of the STP projects and also verify hydrostatics of the project and channel because if there is any leakage then there can be contamination of water sources which may result in epidemic and affect health of locals.
“We will submit a representation to Chief Secretary and also hold a joint meeting with him as different department are involved so that there is proper planning and will also raise our apprehension also” said Adv Ferreira
