After sodiem villagwrs raised concern over drugs menace in their locality Mapusa Police had visited grampanchayat office n along with sarpanch identified some balck spots. PI says they will deploy police in civil to keep track on such activities
it may be recalled that the Villagers of Sodiem , Siolim , Bardez ,Goa during the Monthly Grambsabha raised issue before the Panchayat body regarding illegal activities by some miscreants in some parts of Sodiem Village in respect of usage of contrabands on which Panchayat body requested Police to conduct surprise raid in the isolated location within the Village of Sodiem.
Further, taking serious note of the same SDPO jivba Dalvi gave instructions to act . Accordingly on 03.05.2023 at about 11.00 hrs team lead by PI Paresh Naik with staff of Mapusa Police Station visited Sodiem , Siolim , Bardez, Goa with due assistance of Panchayat Members of Village Panchayat , Sodiem , conducted surprise inspections of the spots , hideouts identified by Locals villagers and during the surprise check at Xell , Sodiem and Gaunsawado, Sodiem two boys namely 1 Mr. Kanikesh Ulhas Korgaonkar , aged 23 years R/o Korgao , Pernem, Goa and 2 Mr. Vikas Dineshh Pandit , aged 24 years R/o Portowado, Siolim, Bardez, Goa were intercepted for using hideout for smoking cigarette, team found in some places Peoples have litered by dumping empty alcohol beverages containers, bottles. Mr. Kanikesh Ulhas Korgaonkar , aged 23 years R/o Korgao , Pernem, Goa and 2 Mr. Vikas Dineshh Pandit , aged 24 years R/o Portowado, Siolim, Bardez, Goa were thoroughly checked and no any contraband found on their Person. They were booked under COTPA Act. SDPO Mapusa informed that staff of Mapusa Police Station will be continue the operation in the locality . And requested to police directly or 112 if any such activities noticed further identity of caller will be kept secret.
