Raj Construction Builder’s project received a strong appeal after the Mapusa Municipal council was ordered to pay the construction license fee from three lakh to Rs.97lakh which it had taken. There was a lot of discussion on this issue in the municipal meeting. Senior councillor Prakash Bhivshet alleged that the technical department of the municipality is inefficient and the councilors also make comments on the councillors
Files are disappearing on a regular basis and since head clerk and steno have not been appointed in the municipal office, why are the vacant posts still not being filled? Questioned former mayor Shubhangi Vaigankar.
Councilor Sudhir Kandolkar informed in the meeting that the file of his project has been missing for several days and stated that before the meeting, the said file was found with the efforts of councillor Priya Mishal. Prakash Bhivshet called the meeting based on his experience and the meeting was chaired by Priya Mishal.
The councillor Anand baidkar ended the confusion by giving all the information about the license fee of Raj Construction in the meeting.
Due to non-payment of construction license fee during Corona period, due to penal action, the builder challenged the decision to the municipal director, when the municipal council appealed to the higher court, the said court decided to take the license fee of seven lakh 55 thousand rupees,and the same decision in today’s meeting was accepted.
Meanwhile, Prakash Divshet hung the flags of the technical department on the gate. Councillor Kamal D’Souja made constructive suggestions.
The rental rates of 28 shops constructed in the building adjacent to the taxi stand should be determined by the auctioning . There was a lot of discussion whether the vacancies in the municipality should be filled with seasonal employees, their salary and that their salary should be 15000 or 18000.
Kamal D’Souza and Shubhangi vaigankar and Sudhir Kandolkar strongly demanded that the salary should be Rs 18000, while Sainath Raul said that this salary should be Rs 15000.
The administration in the municipal office is not working properly and how come the license fee of Raj Builders has become 97 lakh rupees? Councilor Prakash Bhivshet demanded an inquiry into this in the meeting. It was decided that renaming of shops should be done by blood relatives, if anyone gets renaming by mistake, it should be cancelled.
Advocates appointed by the Municipal council are nominal only as they did not win a single case, Kamal D’Souja demanded that they be replaced by a new experienced lawyer. A good meeting ended in a heated discussion. Principal Amitesh Shirwaikar cooperated.
In the municipal meeting, everyone agreed that except for the chief engineer, there is no work for other engineers.
