The people of Porbhavaddo in calangute were put in a state of Panic after Dry grass caught fire at Porbhavddo calangute late Sunday evening.
After getting the information the officials from the Pilerne fire brigade rushed to Calangute Porbavaddo on Sunday and brought the fire under control As the fire threatened to spread to the neighbouring areas, the firemen immediately started the firefighting operation to douse the fire.
According to sources, the fire could have been triggered after someone miught have lit the fire
“The fire brigade was immediately called as the fire was spreading rapidly,” informed panch member Prasad Shirodkar
The fire personnel arrived at the scene and undertook the firefighting exercise to ensure that the fire does not spread.
