K’taka win a complete victory for Cong, shows there is no place for communalism: Ferreira
Aldona: Stating that there is no place for divisive politics in the country, Congress Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Saturday said that the Congress Party’s resounding victory in the Karnataka State Assembly Elections has proved that BJP’s election rhetoric did not work.
“The Karnataka election is a complete victory for the Congress party and a rout of the BJP. The BJP tried a lot to incite communal overtones in their election rhetoric, but it didn’t work. They should know that India is secular and that India will remain secular, that is the spirit and essence of India. Even prior to the Independence of India, that is the spirit and beauty of India. This has proved that there is no place for communal politics in our country. BJP is by trying to whip up communalism and sectarianism to win elections. But their gamble has not paid off,” he said.
Ferreira said that the Congress party is on a path of revival, he said that the Congress will start its March from Karnataka to Delhi.
“It will not be long before we unseat this kind of governance, which is only trying to divide the nation and finish the country and help certain favourite individuals. Congress will continue to fulfill the people’s aspirations. The mandate with which the people of Karnataka have showered with so much love on the Congress, I can assure you that the Congress will move forward to fulfill its poll promises. I thank everyone who reposed their faith in the Congress. Congress is still the party of the masses. it will never die. It is the beacon of hope for the young and the old, for India,” he said.
The MLA said that despite a high-octane campaign led by the prime minister and other top leaders of the BJP campaigning in Karnataka, they drew a 2-digit figure.
“People have voted out the 40% government it was known to be. People believe Congress will reach out to the common man to every person in the villages. Congress will treat everyone equally with respect with no fear or favour. The common man is fed up of the BJP and we have seen how the common man has been chasing BJP candidates out of their houses and villages. Crores of rupees were spent on roadshows and publicity and I am sure even gifts and bribes were offered to the voters as seen from videos circulating. But the voters were smart enough. the people have genuinely spoken,” he said.
“I congratulate Karnataka Congress President D K Shivkumar and all our leaders, including former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah who led the battle and our team Karnataka who toiled day and night to ensure a smooth and unchallenged victory for a clear mandate which will pose no problems as it will stand on its own and steer Karnataka out of the depth of corruption and lack of development and steer to it to be a model state. Credit goes to our Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, our tall leaders Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi who led the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gaandhi has touched the hearts and minds of the people. While he was busy uniting the nation, BJP was dividing the nation,” he added.
