Chief engineer of electricity department Panaji Stephen Fernades assured the villagers of calangute the issue of constant power outages will be resolved with 72 hours
It may be recalled that the village of Calangute was reeling under frequent power cuts amid summer heat and locals were demanding for an immediate solution to the problem
The angry locals had gathered at Panchayat office on Monday and had met the sarpanch Joseph sequeira requesting him to allow them to have a meeting with the chief engineer stephan fernandes Paying heed to their grievances sarpanch had assured to hold a meeting with the chief engineer.
“The scorching heat along with frequent power cuts had made living inside the houses in the popular beach village of Calangute unbearable. Annoyed with the deteriorating power situation, locals had been complaining to the electricity department so today we came to meet the chief engineer of electricity department and he has assured us of solving the issue” said sarpanch Joseph sequeira
speaking to reporters chief executive engineer Steven Fernandes said that with the issue will be resolved in the next 72 hours also the once cable is laid to the new sub station the entire village will not suffer from any power outages
