Dashrath Bicholkar was on Tuesday elected unopposed as Sarpanch of colvale Panchayat in the nine member panchayat body .

The post had fallen vacant after former Sarpanch Shital Chodankar resigned from his post. A meeting was held at the panchayat office on May 16 in the morning for the selection of Sarpanch post. Former sarpanch Shital Chodankar, Supriya Kanolkar, Priyanka, Beacholkar, Yogita Chodankar, and Rati Warkankar, Panch members were present on this occasion. Hanumant Halarnakar, Libreta Fernandes, Narayan Bicholkar, five members were absent.

As only one nomination from was received for the post the Bardez BDO Hanumant Kokadkar declared Dashrath bicholkar as the Sarpanch. The Panchayat Secretary assisted the officials in the election process
