Maddavaddo defeated sauntavaddo 2 0 to emerge winners of the the finals of the Calangute association cup 2023 7 a side inter ward beach football held at west coast sports and cultural club at calangute.
Both the teams played some good attacking football and Madavaddo got the first goal in the first half through a superb goal by their striker who scored a wonderful curler from a long distance pass by their defender sauntavaddoo tried hard to score in the first half but their poor lopsided defending allowed the maddavaddo defenders to capitalise and take advantage of their poor defending. The good ball posession helped madavddo to maintain a strong attack and they made deep forays into the sauntavaddo defence to score more goals but the first half ended with maddavaddo leading
In the second half it was again full dominance by madavaddo as their defenders defended the ball well and did not allow the sauntavaddo strikers to control the ball the change in their earlier defence formation helped them to keep an attacking frontline and this helped them to get the second goal after another of their striker scored from close range after receiving a beautiful pass from close range which was eventually the match winner
Meanwhile in a close match of beach vollyball st Jude khobravddao defeated lady of piety khobravddo winning both the sets of Calangute association cup 2023 6 a side interward beach volleyball held at west coast sports and cultural club at calangute. khobravaddo capitalized on some blunders made by the st Jude defenders they managed to win the the 1st set but later on errors by their lifters in keeping the ball in their possession costed them the game as advantage went to saint Jude
