Fisheries minister Nilkant harlankar on Monday said that they will have to scientifically evaluate the demand for lifting the ban on fishing with LEDs.
“There is a demand to permit fishing by the use of LEDs in the sea. People supporting this demand have claimed that it is a scientifically proven solution for fishing in the seas,” nilkant said while inaugurating a Grand opening of Goa’s first Seafood & Meat exclusive superstore at Calangute
“Interests of both the fishing community will have to be protected and necessary changes will be made in government policies.” He emphasized the need to increase fishery production and productivity, both in inland and marine sectors” he further said
