Vehicle involved in Mopa Link Road accident without permit, insurance, tax. Congress files police complaint.
Stating that the vehicle that dragged and killed a local in a ghastly accident at the mopa airport Link Road had no permission to ply, Congress demanded arrest of not only the driver but also the owner under section 304 of the IPC for causing death by negligence. Addressing media after lodging the complaint at Pernem Police station, Adv Jeetendra Gaonkar along with Congress leaders Vijay Bhike, Viren Shirodkar, Elvis Gomes and others said that attempts made by local MLA Jit Arolkar to hush up the incident was trivialising death of an innocent local and said that nearly 20 people had died due to accidents at construction sites of the highway as well the Link Road. Elvis Gomes said that Revolution on 18th June 1946 sparked by Ram Manohar Lohia was not to see days where largescale land frauds would be taking place in the state with impunity. Citing public notices in newspapers which invited people to sell land in orchard and forest zones to ‘Delhi parties’ even without having documents, Gomes said that the revolution triggered by Lohia was not put the state in a state of lawlessness.
Vijay Bhike also spoke about the traffic cell n the police how the government/ Home Department is using them to only generate revenue and not do their actual duties causing a High risk and reasons for the rise in accidents in our state.
In relation to the tragic accident that occurred in Pernem it completely shows a lack in the system and it’s operations.
How was a vehicle plying on the road without PUC, Insurance , Permit and how a company like Ashok Buildcon is hiring drivers without licence.???
Vijay Bhike accused the government of using the funds for entartainment and other activities but not for the betterment of our state.
Vijay Bhike also spoke about the speed limit on Atul Setu set to 30/kms …..
On what basis has this speed limit been set.
Has the speed test/Jumping test reports obtained for the same….
