the issue of Garbage  mismanagement and mega projects dominated the Saligao gram sabha held on Sunday

Villagers pointed out that water bodies in the village have been polluted due to seepage of leachate from the GTP over the years.

Villagers also raised the issue of water  problem of constant power failures, water shortage and potholed roads was also villagers saying they are always given big promises about uninterrupted power and water supply every time when there is an election, but there’s hardly any improvement.

The gramsabha witnessed some noisy scenes with tempers rising as the villagers demanded for immediate suspension of the current panchayat secretary and appointment of a  full-time panchayat secretary, claiming that their works were  held up because the panchayat secretary is hardly available.
