Inorder to provide better illumination to the traffic coming from Mapusa towards Calangute The Calangute village panchayat has installed a high-mast lamp at Bodkevaddo Junction.
Ward member Prasad shirodkar inaugurated the high mast lamp in the presence Sarpanch Joseph sequeira deputy sarpanch Geeta Parab and others This high-mast has been installed by the village panchayat using funds under CSR costing around 12 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, the Calangute sarpanch Joseph sequeira said that the owner of a prominent restaurant had decided to help the panchayat to take up the works of the installation of the high mast lamps for the benefit of locals.
Panch member Prasad shirodkar said that this is a great day for the people of Calangute to have a high-mast installed as there were a lot of accidents occurring at this spot and there was a need to provide proper illumination at this spot
“The installation of the high-mast lamp was needed in the area as this area was in total darkness as a number of accidents occurred at this spot due to lack of proper illumination said ward member Prasad Shirodkar
