Saligao police arrest two persons for assaulting and causing injury to police officer
According to saligao police On 29.09.2023 HC-B.No.4936 Vidyanand Amonkar, PC B.No. 6118 Shri. Amir Garad & PC-6644 Vijay Naik while on patrolling duty they received information from sources that red colour Tata Tiago car bearing reg. no. KA04BN8391 is moving near Farefield by Marriott Hotel, Guravaddo, Calangute in a suspicious manner and it is suspected that the occupants of said car are involved in illegal activities, accordingly they contacted other police staff PC-7106 Akash Naik and PC-6390 Sanjyot Kerkar for assistance. Accordingly while they were proceeding towards said hotel, at about 23.30 hrs, they noticed one red colour Tata Tiago car bearing registration no. KA04NB8391 proceeding towards Marriott hotel, Gaurawaddo, Calangute.
Accordingly they intercepted the said car and introduced themselves to be police personnel to the driver of the said car. Upon which the male occupant who was sitting on the seat next to driver seat suddenly opened the door and ran towards back side of the car. Accordingly the HC-4936 Shri. Vidyanand Amonkar chased the said person by running and caught the said male person on the road. Upon seeing this, the driver of the above mentioned car suddenly intentionally drove his car in reverse in rash and negligent manner and speedily dashed against HC-4936 Vidyanand Amonkar and dragged him to some distance, thereby causing him serious injuries and further the said driver fled away from the spot with said vehicle. Meanwhile the other police staff succeeded in apprehending the other person who was also trying to abscond from the spot. Further the injured Shri. Vidyanand Amonkar was shifted to GMC Hospital Bambolim for medical treatment, who is undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital Bambolim and will have to undergo surgeries for his hip bone injury, head injury and other multiple bodily injuries.
Further under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim Shri. Vishwesh Karpe and PI Calangute Shri. Milind Bhuimbar and over all supervision of SP North Shri. Nidhin Valsan, the information was given to Police Control Room, wherein the border check posts and the Police patrolling vehicles were alerted to keep strict watch and to intercept the above mentioned vehicle along with the occupant, accordingly the said car along with the occupant was intercepted at Dharbandora with the assistance of patrolling staff of Ponda Police Station.
Further an offence vide Calangute Police Station Crime No. 114/2023 U/s 279, 337, 332, 307 R/w 34 IPC was registered and the accused Sundeep Kumar M S/o Radhakrishna M, age-26 years, R/o 1-190, Thangguparthi, Beluguppa A, Mantapur, Andhra Pradesh-515741, present address: 370-30, Sujatha Building A Block, 2nd Main Ayyappa, Nagar Jalahalli West, BangaloreNorth, Bangalore-560015 and Vasant Devendra Madival, age-32 years, R/o Majali, Karwar, Karnataka were placed under arrest and the Tata Tiago car is attached in the above crime. Both the accused persons are remanded to 4 days Police Custody. Further investigation is in progress with PSI Rajaram Bagkar of Calangute Police Station.
