A dilapidated Portuguese era culvert on the Calangute-Panjim route at Pilerne is getting a new lease of life with Saligao MLA Kedar Naik along with panchayat members and ZP launching the repair work on Monday. A retaining wall in the area at the Verem-Pilerne junction is also being built. “The culvert has not seen any maintenance work since Liberation and parts of the mud structure had also collapsed. There are a large number of heavy vehicles which use this route and there was a danger that it could collapse at any time, because of which we have initiated the repair work,” MLA Naik said
