Leading Vaidyas- the Ayurveda practitioners were also felicitated with the awards for their exceptional contribution towards the growth and promotion of Ayurveda.Shri Shripad Naik, Hon Minister of State, Tourism, Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India was the Chief Guest for the felicitation of the Vaidyas. Dr Sujata Kadam, Dean, All India Institute of Ayurveda, Dhargal, Goa was the guest of Honour, while Dr Mahesh Verlekar, State Licensing Authority (Ayurveda) Directorate of Food & Drugs Administration Goa and Mr. Abhishek Pravimal, Managing Director IDC, Goa was a special invitee.
The event organized on the eve of Diwali, also holds special significance as it coincides with National Ayurveda Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the time-honored science of Ayurveda. The Vaidya Felicitation function was held on November 11, 2023 in Goa. They also pledged to utilise the clinical and treatment properties of Ayurveda for mental and physical health and also persuade others around them to follow Ayurveda for their well-being.Shri Shripad Naik said, “I am honoured to be the chief guest at this very prestigious felicitation function organised by one of the leading manufacturing companies. Dr K Nagaraja Samaga, Dr Asawari Deshpande Naik, Dr Joseph Fernandes, Dr Rohit Borcar, and Dr Sapana Sawal, are the leading doctors who were felicitated with the awards.
Dr. K. Nagaraja Samaga is a former professor from an Ayurveda medical institute and a seasoned Ayurvedic practitioner with 28 years of experience in Goa. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the renowned Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar (1995). Additionally, he is a Master Hypnotist in clinical hypnotherapy, having completed advanced courses in hypnotherapy modalities. Dr. Samaga’s expertise extends to Naturopathy, focusing on the harmonious balance of the body’s fundamental elements in line with the laws of nature.
Dr Asawari Deshpande Naik is committed to spreading the wisdom of Ayurveda. Dr Naik is not only a highly accomplished Ayurvedic physician but also a passionate entrepreneur. She selflessly lends her expertise to various social institutions in Ponda, including the Sanjeev Rehab Centre, Matruchaya, and Sneha Mandir, embodying the spirit of service in Ayurveda.
Dr. Joseph Fernandes is being felicitated for his outstanding contributions to the field of Ayurveda and healthcare, and for the positive impact he has made on countless lives. Dr. Sapna Sawal completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) from Gomantak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda, GOA, and a Fellowship course in Panchakarma from Pune. Dr.Sawal has her specialization in areas such as Bone & Joint Disorders, Metabolic Disorders, Menstrual Disorders, and Skin Diseases.
