GANG OF TWO BURGLARS AND BIKE THIEVES BUSTED BY PORVORIM POLICE, PROPERTIES WORTH RS. 17 LAKHS SEIZED.
Gang of two burglars and bike thieves busted by Porvorim Police, Properties worth Rs. 17 lakhs seized.
Porvorim Police have successfully managed to nab two accused persons who were involved in major house breaking burglaries cases over the last 06 months in and around North Goa.
As per PI Porvorim Rähül Parab Porvorim area had seen two major house breaking theft cases in last 03 months while the same suspects had also committed thefts in Mapusa and
Khandola, Marcel. A team was formed and monitored CCTV’s of almost 50 locations and based on technical surveillance narrowed
down the suspects.
Further reliable information was received that same accused persons have committed theft of a rent a scooter fromPorvorim on 10/11/2023 and they will be coming for committing more thefts on the night of Narkasur and Diwali celebrations. Accordingly various teams were formed of two police staff on motorcycles with instructions to patrol and guard specific points
during which the suspects were found near Alto Porvorim sports club. During the questioning the suspects made an attempt to flee from the spot but they were chased and overpowered and detained.
The suspects have been identified as .1 Mr. Shabbirsaheb Shadavali, age 30 yrs R/o Ambaji, Fatorda, Goa N/o Gadag, Karnataka and 2. Mr. Suleman Shaikh, age – 30 yrs, R/o Nuvem, Salcete – Goa N/o New Vaddem Nagar, Vasco – Goa. During the subsequent
investigation, police have successfully recovered stolen gold weighing 162 grams W/Rs. 8,50,000/- so far and also traced stolen gold worth Rs. 6 lakhs kept as mortgage ni many gold finance firms. Police have also seized 02 stolen scooters from the possession of the accused persons. One was stolen from Navelim, Margao while other stolen from near Mall De Goa, Porvorim. During the search o f residence o f accused person Mr. Shabbirsahed Shadavali at Fatorda police have seized high end articles used for melting and casting gold, diamond detection kits which all are worth around Rs. 1 lakh. Investigation revealed accused person Mr. Suleman Shaikh is a professional pool/snooker player while accused Mr. Shabbirsaheb Shalavadi used to do second hand car dealing business. However addiction to casino playing and living a lavish lifestyle led them to commit such crimes. Both the accused are involved in 02 cases at Porvorim, 01 case at Mapusa and 01 case of Mardol PS while 01 bike theft case at Porvorim and 01 bike theft case of Margao PS.
The team of Porvorim Police Station worked under the supervision of SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS and SDPO Porvorim Vishwesh Karpe and consisted of PI Rahul Parab, PSI Sitaram Malik, PSI Sarvesh Bhandari, LPSI Pranita Mandrekar, ASI Umesh Pawaskar, Constables Nitesh Gaude, Mahadev Naik, Utkarsh Dessai, Yogesh Shinde, Siddhesh Naik and others.
