Calangute: The Calangute panchayat on Sunday held an extraordinary gram sabha to create awareness about the Abha card. The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and like the Aadhar card provides a unique 14-digit identification number for each person, officials from the directorate of health services said.
All medical records, both from private and public health facilities and hospitals will be stored in the Abha number and can be accessed whenever needed, officials said, urging people to register themselves. A Pune-based company also made a presentation on a new garbage management system which will be adopted by the Calangute VP.
The villagers also endorsed the decision of the village Panchayat for the collection of a 5-ton-per-day garbage per day body to undertake the garbage treatment collection after watching a presentation by a private limited, an ISO certified company for waste mangement based at Pune
In his presentation, the managing director of swyampurna transport said they would collaborate with the panchayat to collect organic waste from hotels, canteens, kitchens, vegetable and fruit markets and also to provide night soil tankers on a daily basis

“Cleanliness is the most important thing. A lot of people are releasing sewage on the roadside and drains and so we decided to bring this company to sensitize the people” said sequeira
