The Anjuna caisua Biodiversity Management Committee has submitted a complaint to the Anjuna Police Station urging them to take action under the Environment Protection Act against the businessmen for damaging the biodiversity by nailing advertisement billboards and tying them to the trees in the panchayat area and defacing the area.
Along with the complaint, the advertised photos put up on the trees has also been submitted . According to the complaint, about twenty hoteliers and other businessmen of this panchayat area and neighboring panchayat areas had nailed the boards of their businesses on the roadside trees of this panchayat area. These include Dice Pool Club & Bar, Alaga Massage, Mahe, Quorum, Howling Walls, Purple Martini, Kitty Power, Washing Laundry, Ayur Glow, Believe, Just, Felix Club, Mexi Cola, Go Asian Spa, Paz Goa, Kuka Bura Cafe, Raposa Resort, Collina Bar & Kitchen, Taprom & Eatery and Chupa Rustam are some of the names of the businesses that have been plastered on the trees.
Meanwhile, after giving a copy of this complaint to the Anjuna caisua Panchayat, they have taken immediate action and removed the advertisement boards from all the trees on the road side of the panchayat area and no action has been taken yet on the complaint given by the police, the chairman of the committee, Ramesh Naik, has demanded that a case be registered against all these professionals under the Environment Protection Act. .
