Overbridge at Gaundalim, Divar bridge to be a reality: Faldessai
Panaji: Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board and Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai said that an overbridge at the Gaundalim railway crossing has been planned, and assured this will be a reality soon.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the work of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal providing household connections and retrofitting of existing schemes and improvement of water supply in Cumbharjua constituency Phase I, as well as inauguration of the storage tank at Goltim-Navelim on Wednesday.
Present were Goltim-Navelim Sarpanch, Mario Pinto; PWD A.E, Pravin Zambaulekar; Panch Members, Tanuja Kerkar, Ranjita Korgaonkar, Sunil Mardolkar, Vishwas Durbhatkar; PWD officials, and citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Faldessai said that he intends to take up a slew of works in the months ahead.
“Whenever we take up any work on a project, we get it done within a year’s time. This is the assurance of BJP. We don’t merely erect foundation stones and forget about it. Regarding the beautification of the garden here, I have been raising this issue in the assembly. The file has been passed, and tender will be floated. By monsoon, the work will be completed. I want to work for the people of Divar,” he said.
Faldessai said that the cost of the new tank is Rs 32.50 lakhs

We have also taken up works of Rs 14.57 crores of pipeline work and tanks.
I have been always following up on the water supply. There should be no complaints on supply. I strive to ensure that water supply is ensured. I assure to provide 24 hours water supply. We are working to change the lines. We are waiting for the underground cabling work to finish,” he said.
The MLA also said he is focussing on Vanxim residents.
“We want to put a pipeline there. We are also planning to get a military bridge. CM has passed the project. Also, at the Gaundalim-Daujiim railway crossing, there is big queues due to the railway line. Ambulances have to wait for a long time. So the overbridge is important, lives can be saved. The file has been passed. GSIDC will take up the work,” he said.
“The work on the Old Goa beautification of Rs 41 crore will be taken up. The Carambolim lake beautification work has commenced. 200 youth will get employment. I try to ensure that Divar people get at least 3 ferries. There are breakdowns of the ferries. The Divar Bridge project has been passed at Rs 140 crore through GSIDC. We only have to decide on the approach roads for this. We are asking for a RoRo ferry. CM has assured me of this ferry. We need your support,” he said.
