Mahabaleshwar Vinayak Parab Khorjuvekar (age 95, Alt Dhuler Mhapsa), a retired government teacher from Mapusa and a staunch lover of Marathi, writer and social worker passed away due to a minor illness at his residence today on Monday 25th December.
Mahabaleshwar Parab Khorjuvekar was a passionate Marathi lover. He himself made Marathi the language of Goa. Shashikant Narvekar, Mr. Prof. Gopalrao Mayekar, And. Participated with Ramakant Khalap and other leaders. He worked as a government Marathi primary school teacher for many years on low salary. And at that time students did not have money to buy textbooks, they used to help such poor students financially. He was awarded as the best Marathi teacher of Gomantak Marathi Academy.
He was mildly ill for the last eight days. He passed away early today. The last rites were performed at Baikuthdham crematorium in Dattawadi Mhapasa today at 1 pm. On hearing the news of his death, teachers, Marathi lovers and other citizens paid their last respects.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, daughter-in-law, five married daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
