Saligao: Some unknown miscreants tore down the banner of Shri Ram Lalla near Mall de Goa in the wee hours of Friday. The incident sparked tension in Porvorim area. While Ram bhakts demanded government’s intervention in the incident and strict action in this regard against the culprits.The whole incident has been recorded in the Close Circuit Television showing the culprit came while dragging the trolley bag on the opposite road and after crossing the road near the banner and did job of cutting the banner without any fear banner after parking the bag behind the banner.
The person is thin built and wearing bluish shirt and a monkey cap and trying to hide his identity.
The Information technology minister and local MLA, Rohan Khaunte stated that miscreants who defiled shri Ram banners in Porvorim and their behind-the curtain instigators who want to spread religious hatred in Goa will be dealt with stringent action.
Meanwhile, Goa police has appealed to the members of general public that if any person who has seen him while walking on the road pulling the trolley bag or having any information leading to the arrest of the person involved in incident may inform the nearest police station.
