City of Mapusa had become Ram Nagari yesterday with bhagwa flags/banners and ceremonial lights seen everywhere in and around the city. Some banners were plain while others were printed with pictures of Ramlalla in which thousands of Ram bhakts participated and celebrated the late evening with great pomp and gaiety.
The deputy Speaker, and the local MLA, Josua de Souza, and the chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council, Ms Priya mishal along with others took active part in the Deepotsav organised by the lovers of Ram Bhakts in the city on the auspicious occasion of Ramlalla pran-paratishtha at Ayodhya.
On the occasion, nearly 12,000 divyas were lit on the road to mark the celebration of Pran -Paratishtha at Ayodhya and made Shri Ram with lit earthen lamps besides holding fire -works which attracted a huge crowd near Chatrapati Shivaji statue.late evening.
“The country glows with joy and unity, reminding us that no matter where we are, we’re always connected by these shared moments of celebration” said Mapusa MLA Joshua dsouza
