Ferreira conducts inspection of Peddem Sports Complex
ALDONA: Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira held an inspection at Peddem Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Issues relating to items within Peddem Sports Complex raised by various people were discussed.
Ferreira sought to know from the officials present the sanctioned strength of the supervisors and ground staff for the complex.
The MLA also sought to know how many grass cutters are available, to which he was informed that there is a requirement of a lawnmower as 2 hand cutters which are available utilise more time.
He was also informed that there is a requirement of 2 coaches at the complex.
Ferreira also decided to put a proposal for a motorised roller.
Issues regarding the running track is hopefully expected to be resolved in the next 15-20 days, Ferreira informed citizens but could be flexible as it needs approval of Athletic Association of India.
He also urged the officials to be strict when it comes to giving out yoga mats to schools.
He noted that some toilets were non functional and there was no drinking water facility available at most of the sections of the complex for the players.
Hockey players presented their grievances and many also expressed concern that they had not received their allowances for the national games including TA/DA as also volunteers were not paid upto date.
Valuable boats purchased during national games were also found exposed outside and Mr Ferreira expressed concern that three boats would get spoilt if left unused.
