The traditional Carnaval organised in Porvorim constituency turns out to be a crowd puller

SALIGAO: The traditional Carnaval organisaed for the first time in Porvorim constituency turned out a crowd puller .Approximately around 50 floats participated in the parade this evening. The different themes of Porvorim Carnaval kept the enthusiastic crowd on tenterhooks and gave many surprises as it was based Goan culture tradition and issues encountering the state of Goa.
The main issues of Carnaval floats depicting Goan marriage, a traditional fishermen getting only plastic bottle in his net during fishing, road accidents, impact of dhirios, extracting urrac (Goan feni) through old Goan traditional method, save paddy fields, save animals, and so on and so forth.
Carnaval float parade started as early as 4 pm on Friday evening accompanied by the heavy metal to light music which compelled the people to tap their feet to the traditional Goan and other popular music.
Goa police as well as traffic police control the uncontrolable motorised traffic during peak hours and the parade passed on without any accident.
