MAPUSA: Sushant Harmalkar was elected unopposed as the new vice -chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council on Wednesday
Harmalkar, in the presence of Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, chairperson Nutan Bicholkar, and other members of the ruling group, had submitted his nomination form to MMC chief officer Chandrakant Shetkar on Tuesday in his cabin No nomination was filed from the opposition side making way for the candidate from the ruling side to be elected unopposed.
It may be recalled that former vice chairperson Viraj Phadke had tendered his resignation from the post as part of a mutual understanding among the ruling group of councillors after completion of his one year tenure. Deputy Speaker and MLA Mapusa, Joshua dsouza also Congratulated Sushant Harmalkar on being elected unopposed as the Vice Chairperson of the Mapusa Municipal Council.
