GSB Unity Cup 2024 to begin from March 8
Panaji: The GSB Unity Cup 2024, T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust in association with Goa Saraswat Samaj, will be inaugurated on March 8 at 8.30 am at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Panaji.
Akash Khaunte, Director, Alcon Group, will be the chief guest at the event.
Chirag Naik, Managing Director, Commonwealth Developers; Dr. Sagar Salgaocar, Managing Director, Geno Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd; Dr. Desh Prabhudesai, President of Goa Saraswat Samaj; Prathamesh Sukhthankar, Director of Shamrao Builders; and Aditya Angle, Representative (Men) of The Cricketers’ Association of India at Goa Cricket Association are the special invitees.
The matches will be played from March 8 to May 5 at three venues – Panjim Gymkhana, SK Ground Malkarne and MCC Margao. ALCON (Anil Counto Enterprises) are the title sponsors of the tournament. The winning team will be given a Rolling Trophy sponsored by Prathamesh Sukhthankar in memory of Shamrao Sukhthankar.
The trophies will be awarded to the winners, runners-up and losers of the semi-finals. Individual prizes include Man of the Tournament, Man of the Match, best batsman, best bowler, best wicketkeeper and best fielder.
Mathagram Warriors, Madgaon Super Strikers, Sinq Rangers, Mapusa Dream Crushers, Desserts and More Avengers and Canacona Warriors have been included in Group A, while Knight Archers, Margao Royals, Antruz Strikers, The CQS Scoring Willows, Rangers and Antruz Rising Stars have been included in Group B.
