Maunday Thursday or holy Thursday commemorating the symbolic act of Washing of the Feet and the Last Supper by Lord Jesus Christ with the Apostles was celebrated all over the state
Holy Thursday ,is believed to be the day when Lord Jesus celebrated his final Passover meal with his disciples. Most notably, that Passover meal was when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in an extraordinary display of humility. He then commanded them to do the same for each other.
Parish Priest of saint Alex church Calangute Fr Polly lobo presided over the holy Thursday service at saint Alex church Calangute along with other concelebrants while priests celebrated masses at various churches, chapels, shrines and religious institutions across the state
Holy Thursday marks the preparation of Good Friday, commemorating the Death of lord Jesus and finally ends with the Easter commemorating the resurrection of Lord Jesus
the three events commemorated on Maundy Thursday are the Commandment of Love, Institution of Priesthood and the Institution of the Holy Eucharist.
