Panaji: High on morale after edging out league leaders, Sporting Clube de Goa will look for a fourth straight win when they take on Maharashtra Oranje FC at the Kharghar Centre of Excellence in Mumbai on Sunday at 4pm.
Sporting’s mettle was put to the test in the last game against SC Bengaluru as they won 4-3 with a late winner four minutes from time from former India international Adil Khan.
The recent impressive form has put the Goan side back in contention for a top-2 finish.
Sporting are currently in the fourth spot of the standings with 19 points from 11 games.
SC Bengaluru lead the standings with 24 points while FC Bengaluru United are second with 20 points, followed by Sudeva Delhi FC, also 20 points, in the third position.
Meanwhile, Oranje FC are at the bottom of the eight-team league with eight points.
But Sporting are not taking them lightly.
In the first leg in Goa, Sporting had defeated Oranje 2-0 at Tilak Maidan, Vasco.
