This paradigm shift involves storing waste at a common point within society premises rather than relying on third-party workers for visiting every door and floor of buildings and even face rejection from units that don’t open doors.

The societies has taken the responsibility of setting up a waste storage and segregation station. This strategic move not only enhances Sustainable practice but also fosters a cleaner and greener environment for all residents.

One of the primary advantages of centralizing waste storage within housing societies is the approach offers unparalleled convenience to residents. With waste stored centrally, individuals can dispose of their trash at their own convenience without the constraints of adhering to rigid collection schedules. This not only streamlines the waste disposal process but also ensures that no household is overlooked during collection rounds, thus enhancing overall efficiency and security risks.

Shri. Dylan Fernandes of YIMBY said, “The centralized waste storage within housing societies is mitigation of security risk. All too often, the conventional method of door-to-door waste collection has been marred by incidents of theft and other related offenses. By consolidating waste at a common point, societies minimize the entry of external workers onto their premises, thereby significantly reducing the likelihood of such incidents.”

Additionally, maintaining waste at a central point contributes significantly to the cleanliness and aesthetics of the society. By eliminating the sight of scattered bins or bags outside individual flats, communities present a more organized and visually appealing environment. This not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also elevates the overall appeal of the locality.

Sarpanch Shri. Kamala Prasad Yadav said, “The transition towards community waste management heralds a new era of sustainable living in Chicalim Village Panchayat. By centralizing waste storage, societies not only enhance security and convenience but also promote cleanliness, environmental conservation, and community engagement as well as comply with the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. It is imperative for all housing societies to embrace this progressive approach and join hands in building a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future for generations to come.”
