Renowned filmmaker Kim Ki Duk’s most well-received film, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring is set in a remote and picturesque mountain lake in the wilderness in South Korea. With some stunningly beautiful visuals, the story divided into segments is about the seasons of life of a Buddhist monk and his teacher. Even though it revolves around Buddhist philosophy, the story is universal, in more ways than one. Film critic Roger Ebert included it in his list of ‘Great Movies’ and wrote “Rarely has a movie this simple moved me this deeply. I feel as if I could review it in a paragraph, or discuss it for hours.”
