Calangute Police recovers 300 grams of gold worth ₹25 lakh and apprehended the accused.
That on 27/04/2024 one Mrs. Nancy Dias, W/o Albert Cyril Dias, Age-62 years, R/o H. No. 1681, Saipem, Candolim, Bardez-Goa lodged her complaint against accused person namely Eyakub Mondal, N/o West Bengal who is working as a servant for the complainant, committed theft of 04 gold plates from the flat of the complainant and fled away with said gold.
In this connection, Calangute Police Station Crime No. 58/2024 U/S 381 stands registered.
During course of investigation, information was collected and it revealed that the accused person is in West Bengal. Accordingly, a team consisting of PSI Akshay Parsekar, PC-7917 Shri. Gaurish Karbotkar and P-7958 Shri. Harchandra Betkekar all attached to Calangute Police Station proceeded to West Bengal and traced the accused person at Village-Panitara, P.S. Kumarganj, District-Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal and recovered part of stolen property i.e. 03 gold biscuits total weighing 300 grams worth Rs. 25,00,000/- approximately.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision and guidance of Shri. Paresh Naik, Police Inspector, Calangute Police Station with overall Supervision of SDPO Porvorim, Shri. Vishwesh Karpe and SP North, Shri. Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
