CCF raises opposition lodges complaint with authorities over illegal Construction of road on a Hill
Calangute: The calangute constituency forum has lodged a Complaints with concerned authorities against Illegal Road Construction on Hill Side at Gauravaddo East
In their complain the forum has pointed out that this illegal activity is happening in through the properties bearing survey no. 87, 96,92,88, 90, 89, 46,
41 and 42 of Village Calangute, within the jurisdiction of Village
Panchayat Calangute. on the hillside at Gauravaddo East
In the complaint the forum has pointed out that this construction, involves significant hill cutting, which is not only illegal but also highly detrimental to the pristine environment of our community.
The road construction project appears to be driven solely by the
interests of builders looking to raise a concrete jungle, disregarding the
well-being of our village environment. The natural landscape of our
village is a vital part of our heritage and contributes to our quality of
life” said president of the forum Prem Divkar
speaking further Prem divkkar said that the hill cutting and subsequent environmental degradation will have severe and irreversible impacts, including destruction of Natural Habitat:
In the complaint the forum has further pointed out that the hillside is home to a variety of flora and fauna, some of which are unique to this area.
