Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations Held with Fervor in Goa
Panaji, Goa – The Muslim community in Goa celebrated Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, with great enthusiasm and devotion on Sunday.
Grand processions were taken out in various parts of the state, including Panaji, Margao, and Vasco, with participants carrying flags, banners, and placards. The processions were accompanied by traditional drumbeats and naat recitations, filling the air with spiritual fervor.
Special prayers were offered at mosques and dargahs across the state, with devotees gathering in large numbers to seek blessings and guidance from the Prophet.
“The teachings of Prophet Muhammad are a beacon of hope and guidance for humanity,” said Maulana Abdul Razzaq, Imam of the Panaji Mosque. “We pray for peace, harmony, and prosperity on this auspicious occasion.”
The celebrations also included cultural programs, naat competitions, and distribution of food and sweets among the community.
The Goa government had declared a public holiday on the occasion, and security arrangements were in place to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations.
