Sawant all praise for Faldessai’s commitment to getting the job done
PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday congratulated Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on the occasion of his birthday and appreciated style of functioning pointing out that the MLA who has risen up from being a businessman, has shown commitment to his constituency by completing even basic infrastructure works from his own funds.
Speaking on the occasion of his birthday in the presence of thousands of people at Cumbarjua, Sawant pointed out how in the recent past, Faldessai undertook the construction of a road in the constituency at his own expense giving the reason that if one were to wait for the tender process to complete it would take a another two months which would be too late.
“There are many who reach out and help those in need especially when it comes to fees, medical expenses, and other expenses, but Faldessai even spends from his own pocket on building roads and other basic public infrastructure,” Sawant said.
He recalled how Faldessai was actively involved in the works of his constituency pointing out that such is his urgency in getting the works completed that he wanted the file for the Dauji railway overbridge to be completed within a day.
“I have promised him that we will do the work of the bridge, but it will have to be done as per procedure and as quickly as possible. I think it is the panch and sarpanch who are putting pressure on him to get the work done at the earliest,” Sawant also said.
He also said that Faldessai, though elected on a Congress ticket, has “now joined the right party.” “If at all he has switched parties it is not for his own benefit, but rather for your benefit,” Sawant added.
Faldessai thanked the Chief Minister and appreciated him for visiting him on his birthday like every year and prayed that his favourable view towards the constituency would continue.
He was also visited by several ministers and MLAs from across the state.
