IMD ISSUES RED ALERT FOR GOA, HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED
Panaji, Goa, September 23 – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Goa on September 24, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
– Red alert for September 24, orange alert for September 25
– Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected, with strong winds and rough sea conditions
“We urge citizens to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing into waterlogged areas.”IMD has stated
– Wind speeds expected to reach 40-50 km/h, gusting up to 60 km/h
– Public advised to stay indoors and avoid travel unless necessary
– Control rooms activated in North and South Goa districts
