WORKSHOP ON PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORK PLACE HELD.
Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (GIPARD) in collaboration with Directorate of Education, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and V.M. Salgaocar College of Law organized two workshops for the principals and headmasters of Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) and schools on Monday at the Goa Board of HSS and School Education.
The objective of the workshop was to create awareness about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Work Place Act (PoSH).
Director of Education, Shri. Shailesh Zingade inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Director, GIPARD, Shri Vasudev Shetye, Director, SCERT, Ms Meghana Shetgaonkar and faculty from V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Dr. M.R K Prasad. The Heads of the HSS and Schools were given an overview of the Act as well as they were explained the role and responsibilities of the Internal Committees under POSH. The workshops were attended by approximately 185 heads of HSS and Schools.
Assistant Director, GIPARD, Dr Seema Fernandes was the coordinator of the workshops. Similar, workshops are planned on October 7, 2024 for HSS and schools in Mathany Saldanha building, Margao.
GIPARD and V.M. Salgaocar College of Law has conducted 35 training programs on PoSH at Workplace for the Internal Committees under PoSH of all the HSS and Schools in Goa, during which 812 teachers were trained.
