“Goa Governor Honors Legacy of Renowned Cartoonist Mario Miranda”
Governor of Goa, Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, attended the public screening of “The World of Mario…Seriously Funny!”, a documentary film showcasing the life and work of renowned cartoonist Mario Miranda, recipient of the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award. The event took place at the Doordarshan Kendra Panaji studio in Goa.
Prominent dignitaries present included Secretary to Governor Shri. M.R.M Rao, IAS, Dy. Director General/HOO Shri. Sunil Bhatia, Head of Programme Shri. Uday S. Kamat, PEX Shri. Savio de Noronha and Joint Director (RNU) Shri. Raviraj Saratape, along with officials and staff of DDK Panaji.
Mario Miranda’s work has delighted two generations with its unique blend of humor and satire. As the 19th Governor of Goa, Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai’s presence underscored the significance of Miranda’s contributions to Indian art and culture ¹.
