FC GOA THRASH BENGALURU FC 3-0, END UNBEATEN STREAK
Goa, Nov 2, 2024: FC Goa registered a convincing 3-0 victory over Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Saturday, ending the visitors’ six-match unbeaten streak.
Armando Sadiku (63′), Brison Fernandes (72′), and Dejan Drazic (90+2′) scored for the Gaurs, who climbed to fourth place in the standings with nine points from seven matches.
FC Goa Head Coach Manolo Marquez made six changes to the starting lineup, including the return of defender Sandesh Jhingan after a nine-month injury layoff.
The hosts dominated the match, with Sadiku and Aakash Sangwan testing Bengaluru goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu in the first half.
Yasir’s sprint down the right flank set up Sadiku for the opener, while Fernandes doubled the lead with a calm lob over Gurpreet.
Drazic sealed the win in stoppage time, combining with Iker Guarrotxena before slotting home.
FC Goa will host Punjab FC on Wednesday in their next league assignment.
