Minister Halarnkar Chairs Meeting to Address Stray Dog Menace”
Goa’s Minister for Animal Husbandry, Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar, recently convened a crucial meeting at the Conference Hall in Mantralaya, Porvorim, to address the growing concern of stray dog population in the state. The meeting aimed to finalize guidelines for an effective Sterilization Programme, a key step towards mitigating public health risks and animal welfare issues.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Leader of Opposition, Shri Yuri Alemao, Fatorda MLA, Shri Vijai Sardesai, and St. Andre MLA, Shri Viresh Borkar, along with other officials and stakeholders.
The meeting focused on crafting a comprehensive policy to tackle the root causes of stray dog population growth. The proposed Sterilization Programme aims to reduce the number of stray dogs, promoting humane management and public safety.
