Festive season traffic keeps police on toes in Porvorim
The influx of tourists in Goa to ring in the New Year brought traffic in Porvorim to a standstill. The roads from Mapusa to Porvorim and Porvorim to Panaji were congested, with tourists rushing to find affordable accommodations.
Traffic police in the area have had a tough time managing the heavy traffic, even during non-peak hours. Their tireless efforts deserve commendation.
Visitors from across India, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Gujarat, Bihar, and other areas, have flocked to Goa to enjoy the holidays.
Deputy Superintendent of Police North, Mr. Karpe, is well aware of the challenges posed by festival traffic. To mitigate these issues, he has deployed traffic personnel at key locations, including Maruti Sai Service Circle, near Shivaji statue, Malim Circle, and other routes.
