In a proud moment for Goa, Mahaj Vinayak Porob, a young talent from Thivim has bagged the top honor at the National Abacus Competition 2024-25, held in Pune’s Balewadi.
Mahaj, the sole representative from Goa in Level 2 of the competition, outshone participants from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan to claim the coveted gold medal.
The prestigious event was attended by distinguished guests, including actor Swapnil Joshi and renowned scientist Padmashree Raghunath Mashelkar, former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The chief guests presented the awards to the winners, including Mahaj.
Mahaj is the son of Advocate Vinayak Porob from Mapusa. His impressive achievement has brought laurels to the state and made his family proud.
