Fisheries Department Awareness Camp Draws Enthusiastic Response
A highly informative Awareness and Guidance Camp was successfully organized by Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, in association with the Fisheries Department, at the Chivar Football Ground Hall in Anjuna. The event aimed to educate fishermen and community members about government schemes and the benefits of artificial reefs.
During the session, officials from the Fisheries Department explained various government initiatives designed to support fishermen, including the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), which aims to enhance fish production and improve the livelihoods of fishermen ¹.
The benefits of artificial reefs were also highlighted, emphasizing their role in promoting sustainable fishing practices and conserving marine ecosystems.
