Pritish Nandy: A Champion of Animal Rights
Mumbai,9 jan – The Indian film fraternity and animal lovers across the country are mourning the loss of acclaimed filmmaker Pritish Nandy, a dedicated supporter of animal rights.
As a long-time ally of PETA India, Nandy was instrumental in promoting the adoption of community dogs. He featured in a campaign urging people to give loving homes to dogs in need.
Nandy was also a vocal critic of animal cruelty, particularly Jallikattu, where bulls are subjected to beatings and harsh treatment. He consistently called for an end to such practices and supported humane alternatives.
“Pritish Nandy’s contributions to animal rights will be deeply missed,” said Sachin Bangera, Vice President of Celebrity and Public Relations, PETA India. “His legacy will live on in the generations he inspired to advocate for animals and work towards a more compassionate world.”
PETA India extends its condolences to Nandy’s family and friends.
